                                                                      Marinos Tokas
                                                                      Marinos Tokas was born in 1980 in Komotini, Greece. He started piano lessons in the ‘modern music school of Eleni Xigala’, with professor Eleni Xigala and lessons in theory of music with professor John Ketipidis. When he completed his military service, he continued taking lessons for 8 years with professor Athanasios Trikoupis at Phaëton Conservatory in Alexandroupolis. He holds degrees in harmony, instrumentation, counterpoint, fugue and music teaching, as well as post-degree diplomas in piano performance and composition. From 1990 to 1998 he gave a number of piano recitals in Komotini and since 1993 he participated in rock, pop and jazz music groups. He cooperated - among other artists - with Maria Kipourou, Thomas Arabatzis, Nick Daskaloudis, Nick Kikidakis, Thanasis Gaifilias and the Music Company of Komotini, George Efremidis, Nick Karababas, Giorgos Andreou and Eleni Tsaligopoulou. Since 2001 he works as a piano and music theory teacher in conservatories in Komotini and Alexandroupolis, and as a substitute music teacher in primary and secondary schools in the prefecture of Rodopi, Greece. Since 2008 he works as a piano and music theory teacher in the modern school of music ‘THRAKES’ in Komotini.
