Composer's Biography
Charalampos Navrozidis
Navrozidis Charalambos was born in 1956 in Katerini, Greece. In 1983, he graduated from the ‘Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid’ under professors don Julio Molina on trumpet and don Mario Arteaga on theory. He holds a post-degree diploma in composition with excellent grade and first prize under professor Christos Samaras. He currently works as a professor of wind instruments and advanced theory in the Municipal Conservatory of Katerini. His works have been played in Spain and in many Greek cities. His compositions ‘9 muses’, and ‘quartet no.1, no.2 and no.3’ have been awarded a distinction in the National Chamber Music Composition Competition of the Friends of Scholarly Music. His work ‘quartet no.1, no.2 and no.3’ has been published, as well as ‘solfege exercises’, ‘harmony book’, ‘figured bass’, and a ‘dictée book’. He is a member of the Greek Composers Union, Choir Euphoria, Center of Pierides Mousses in Katerini, and founding member of the Association of Music Scene. He participated in composition seminars with Theodoros Antoniou, Lefkothea Kartasidou and Gunther Schuller. His compositions include 32 works for voice and choir, 71 works for orchestra and chamber music and 31 works for the theater.
